The 38th Durban International Film Festival kicked off last week with the South African premier of Serpent taking place on Thursday evening. The Festival, which this year focuses on the stories of refugees and immigrants, with the theme of ‘Transit Tales’, is the continent’s largest film festival, and a real jewel in Durban’s crown. While the festival shows films from across the globe, there is a definite emphasis on African cinema, with movies such as The Wound and Asinamali drawing some serious attention and opening the floor for important and very relevant debates.

The festival runs until this Sunday, the 23rd July. Make sure that you don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to see the best that the film world has to offer!
